• Save the file to an easily accessible location on your computer (e.g., your Downloads folder).

2. 💽 Install the Plugin on WordPress

1. Log in to your WordPress site using an administrator account.
2. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
3. At the top of the page, click Upload Plugin.
4. Choose the gist-answers.zip file you downloaded, then click Install Now.
5. WordPress will install the plugin and show a confirmation.
6. After installation, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins, then click Activate next to Gist Answers.

3. 🎛️ Configure Your Gist Answers Settings

Follow these steps within your WordPress admin dashboard to complete the setup:

1. Open Gist Answers: In your WordPress dashboard, go to Gist Answers from the left-hand menu.
2. Enter Your Details: Fill in the required fields:
   • First Name
   • Last Name
   • Email Address (This email uniquely identifies and verifies your setup)
3. Select Content Source for Answers: Choose how search results will be generated:
   • Your Website Only – Limits results exclusively to your own website content.
   • Include content from Gist Content Network – Expands results to include both your website and the Gist Content Network.
4. Choose Your Search Bar Type: Decide how the search bar will appear:
   • Floating Bar – A fixed search bar that remains visible as users scroll.
   • Inline Bar – A search bar placed directly within your page content.
5. Configure How Results Are Displayed: Select how users will view search results:
   • New Page – Opens results in a separate dedicated page.
   • Modal Window – Displays results in a pop-up window, keeping users on the current page.
6. Set Content Source URL: The content source field is automatically pre-filled with your WordPress site URL. If your relevant content is hosted elsewhere, please update this field with the correct link.
7. Agree to Terms & Save: Review the Terms and Conditions, check I agree, and click Save to apply your settings.
8. Verify Your Email: After saving, a verification email will be sent. Open this email and click the verification link to finalize the setup. ✅

4. 📌 Activate and Add the Gist Answers Widget

1. Check Your Email: Look for a message with the subject line “Gist Powered Answers Activation Request.” This email contains your activation link and essential setup instructions.
2. Activate and Retrieve Your API Key:
   • Click the Activate link within the email.
   • An API key will be generated. Copy this key.
   • In WordPress, paste the key into the Enter Authentication Key field and click Continue.
3. Add the Gist Answers Widget to a Page:
   • In your WordPress Admin, go to Pages.
   • Select the page where you want the widget to appear and open it in the editor.
   • Click the + (Add Block) button and search for Shortcode.
   • Insert the Shortcode block and type: [gist-ai-widget]
